There are multiple reasons why students don’t get on with learning what others expect them to do

 

It’s a topic that’s generated thousands of research-based and popular press articles.

 

In digital form these articles would probably occupy terabytes of storage.

 

Even so and in spite of it all, this issue continues to haunt those concerned about lower levels of students’ academic achievements.

 

Perhaps it’s time to look in another place.  Consider reframing student resistance to academic learning as resentful unwillingness

 

Then the challenge becomes how these reluctant participants may be gently redirected toward embracing opportunities.

Students suffering under the load of accumulating grudge are hard to budge.

 

How might we collectively budge the grudge?
